Dollar Tree built a new 1,000,000 square feet distribution center consisting of structural steel, joists & deck with a 250,000 square feet composite mezzanine for robotic machinery. The distribution center is one of the largest economic investments in Johnson County, MO. Red Cedar Steel erected the new warehouse in eight weeks.
This was a LEED Project utilizing a tower crane to erect structural steel over a below grade poured in place parking structure. The Hotel entrance porte cochere was elevated on top of the 2nd floor structural steel which required strategic planning and heavy rigging to erect. The ballroom roof utilized 125’ long trusses and the bottom cord of these trusses were required to be straight and true elevation to carry the folding partition doors.
Upsher-Smith Laboratories expanded their medicinal manufacturing space at its Maple Grove, MN campus with a four story, 300,000 square foot expansion. Red Cedar Steel erected the building shell which consisted of 2,000 tons of structural steel & deck. Additionally, the miscellaneous metals package included stairs, railings, grating, RTU supports, & hoist supports.
Up North Plastics doubled the size of its manufacturing space with a new 450,000 square foot facility in Cottage Grove, MN. Red Cedar Steel erected the structural steel, including a five-story tower and link bridge. Red Cedar Steel also installed the miscellaneous metals package which included multiple stair towers, guardrails, handrails, and checkered plate.
Located in the heart of Lee’s Summit, MO, the Summit at West Pryor project consists of a 5 story mixed use apartments, retail, and clubhouse building with roof top patio and three courtyard decks on main floor with an elevated pool. Red Cedar Steel erected the structural steel and the miscellaneous steel package on this project which included multiple stair towers, guardrails, handrails, and canopies.
MEIJER, Inc., a Michigan based grocer purchased an existing 580,000 square foot distribution center and added approximately 253,677 additional square feet of new space to the existing building; including a high-tech warehouse that would include “an automated storage and retrieval system.”
Fleet Farm built a new 1,125,000 square feet distribution center consisting of structural steel, joists & deck. The distribution center is one of the largest economic investments in Chippewa County. Red Cedar Steel erected the new warehouse in six weeks.
Located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis, the Dayton’s Project featured renovating 1.2 million square feet, across 12 floors, into modern office, retail, dining & entertainment space. Key elements include a 45,000 square foot food hall and market, green rooftop terrace with unparalleled skyline views, private lounge and library spaces, a state-of-the-art health club, and a grand stair.
Amazon built a 1,300,000 square foot facility in Fargo, ND. The new Fulfillment Center—the largest building in Fargo and thought to be the biggest in North Dakota. Red Cedar Steel erected 5,700 tons of structural steel in 10 weeks. The miscellaneous metals package included dock stairs, ships ladders, access ladders, railings, & bollards.
This LEED project that consisted of a 5-story structural steel project with two cantilevered AESS welded Port-A-Catchier structures. Red Cedar also erected the miscellaneous steel stair package, grand stair, elaborate 360-degree roof screen wall system and steel substructure for the building façade.
This was a LEED project consisting of two identical 5 story buildings with a connector walkway at each level. The 5-story parking structure included five individual full height architecturally exposed stair structures and the steel structures are linked to the parking structure with a clear span pedestrian bridge.
This was a LEED project consisting of two tall data floors of heavy structural with heavy wall pipe braced framed. The floor load required the W30 main carrying beams to have double angle through and through connections that can be very challenging. We also installed the misc. steel package for stair, elevators, precast panels, doors, pipe supports and bollards.
This was a LEED project consisting of nine buildings plus a pipe bridge. All of the buildings’ exteriors consisted of precast panels that supported the structural roof system. The main processing building consisted of two types of construction: heavy structural steel with long trusses and long span bar joist as well as typical bar joist and girders. One building has a clear span overhead crane that runs full length of the building.
The erection of the Student Union building was done on a very tight site with a large crawler crane capable of erecting the complete structure from one location. The crane pad was compacted and built up for proper structural support of the crane. There were many elevation changes in the structure to contour with the existing site conditions. RCS also installed the misc. package consisting of stairs, grand stair, architectural stair and balcony handrail an AESS exposed pipe canopy.
